WVYD Convention

April 16,2005-I attended the WVYD Convention and these were the resolutions the resolution committee came to- WVYD thanked all those who helped set up the convention, we do not support Bush's social security plan or any other legislation the Rebulicans are trying to pass. We would also like Senator Byrd to run for a ninth term in the Senate. WV and WVYD need him on our side.
Credentials committee approved finances, and the Rules committee added two amendments to the WVYD constitution. 1. High School clubs- officers must be 16 or older and 2. College Clubs- non-traditional students that are over 36 can be associate members of WVYD.
Senator Byrd spoke at the luncheon. Erik Wells and Mike Callahan spoke at the convention meeting.
I would like to start a Berkeley County Young Democrats Chapter. Please check back for announcements on the signature event to kick this off.
